Cleaning Stains From Leather

Fine leather is a joy to use and those who know their leather will vouch for this fact. When a person wears quality leather shoes as well as leather shoulder bags, jackets and other leather products, it is quite obvious that they have class which sets them apart from the crowd. But then, when it comes to stains due to rough usage as well as exposure to the elements, you have to use all the means at your disposal to tackle the problem and come up with leather that is without a blemish and appears quite spotless. In some cases, this may become a grueling task, however there are a few simple ways to tackle the problem. Here are some of the most popular and easy methods:

Finished leather:

You can use some simple, but gentle soap on a dry cloth. A little bit of water can be added to the cloth to work up a small lather. This cloth is then applied with the lather onto the stained portion of the leather material, whether it is a bag or maybe a jacket. You should not add any water to the leather! One you have done that, you can then be wipe it away with a clean, dry cloth so that the stain is removed effectively.

Unfinished leather:

Here you can apply a damp or even a wet cloth along with soap directly so that you work up a lather on the affected region. Then you can wipe away the lather and dry the area that was wiped in air so that the stain is gone and the leather retains its pristine, unspoiled quality.

Mildew stains:

These are stains that occur due to mildew or other fungal infection especially in damp and dank conditions. Here you can use some alcohol to wipe away the affected area so that the stain is gone and then you should be able to use the leather product.

These are just a couple of the simple ways in which you can treat leather which has been spoiled due to stains and needs extra care. Always maintain your leather shoulder bags, jackets, backpacks and other products to keep them from becoming unusable.
